Undergraduate student at St. Cloud State University.

Background

Originally from the Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota area, I have found my way an hour north in St. Cloud, Minnesota for college. I am only child and still live in the Minneapolis area when I'm on breaks, etc. I graduated from Benilde-St. Margaret's High School in St. Louis Park, MN in 2004 before heading to the Fargo-Moorhead area in the fall of 2004 to attend Concordia College. However, I was getting a little homesick and ended up back in the Twin Cities early 2005. At that point, I applied to Brown College and started there in April of 2005. I graduated from Brown in September of 2006 with an Associate's of Applied Science in Television Production. After graduation, I worked for a few months at Play It Again Sports and at The Hockey Lodge before starting at St. Cloud State in January of 2007. I am currently a junior at St. Cloud State and hope to graduate fall of 2009. I work at Play It Again Sports in Minnetonka as a sales associate and am involved with several different organizations when I get the chance. I am involved with UTVS, KVSC, and Husky Sports Band when I can but it's hard when I'm working all the time and am attending classes and doing homework.

Interests, Activities & Plans

Right now, I'm just trying to get through school and work too so I can have some spending money. I'm really into sports, NASCAR and hockey in particular. I try to watch as many Minnesota Wild games and NASCAR races but it's hard when you're either in class or working almost every day of the week. I also try to participate in the campus television and radio stations, UTVS and KVSC respectively, as well as Husky Sports Band when I can but my time spent with those organizations is pretty limited because of other things going on.

This summer is going to be a little busy again because I'm going to be taking summer classes and hopefully working at the same time. This way, I'm hoping that I can get done a little sooner with school. I do plan to work a lot as well so I can pay some bills and have some fun whether it's taking a trip someplace, going to an amusement park like Valleyfair, or something else. It's probably going to be a little crazy this summer but I have to admit that I'm looking forward to the summer time.

As for the future...I'm not exactly quite sure what I want to do. I would eventually like to get into either sports or broadcasting, or some how manage to combine the two and work at a sports station or do some sort of broadcasting work with a sports team. Heading out to California, down south like Texas, or to the East Coast like Pittsburgh or Charlotte to live would be something I would like to do. I would also like to visit Canada some day. It's not that I don't like Minnesota, it's just one of those things where it would be a good change of scenery and being able to live somewhere warm would be nice. At some point as well, I would like to set-up and run my own company doing editing work - both audio and video. Audio and video editing is something I like to do and if I can continue that either in whatever job I get or through my own company, that would make me happy.

Other Interesting Things

I'm a big sports fan with NASCAR and hockey being my favorite sports. I like a lot of different teams and race drivers including the following teams and drivers (no particular order): Dale Earnhardt Jr, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Elliott Sadler, Carl Edwards, Michael Waltrip, Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt Sr, Kurt Busch, Bobby Labonte, Minnesota Wild, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Pittsburgh Penguins.

One thing a lot of people don't know about me is that if I hadn't gotten into broadcasting back in high school, I would be doing something with music. I don't know what exactly but something to do with music. Other interesting facts are: since I have bad eyesight (very nearsighted), I do wear glasses but you would probably never know it because I wear contacts all the time and being the hockey fan that I am, I actually didn't get to a professional hockey game in person until January of 2006 when the Minnesota Wild took on the Dallas Stars.

If there's anything else that you need to know or want to know, feel free to contact me at the email at the top of the page.

I did a basic presentation about NASCAR - specifically, terms and history of NASCAR. You can find the presentation here.

This is one of my absolute favorite pictures. It was taken in the summer of 2007 at the Minnesota Wild Summer Bash. You were able to get pictures with the players that were there (six altogether), get autographs from the players, play some 3-on-3 street hockey, and do some other things. I say this is my favorite picture because of the fact that Mark Parrish is one of my favorite players and was able to meet him.

In August and September of 2007, I was able to intern at KDWB in the Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area. I interned for the Dave Ryan in the Morning Show and it was an absolute blast. The crew was great and Dave Ryan is just as nice as you would expect. I had a great time there and would definitely do it again if I could.
Through the summer of 2008 I interned for KFAN radio in Minneapolis-St. Paul for the FAN Motorsports show on Saturdays from 12-2pm. It was a lot of fun and it's probably because I have experience working at a radio station from my internship at KDWB, I knew what I was doing and I have interest in NASCAR and motorsports.
